Id Lanyard Attachments Reviewed

There are many different styles of badge attachments you can add to a lanyard.  These include swivel clips, grippers, and bulldog clips.  Some are designed for use with badge holders.  Others slot directly through a hole in the ID or firmly grip the card's edge.  Of course, keeping your card on display and within easy reach is just the beginning.  You can branch out by making many everyday items more accessible.  Here is a sampling of the specialty attachments you may want to include on your next supply order.

Badge Reels

Do you run your card through an access reader or time clock every day?  Have you ever wished you had just a few more inches on your lanyard so you didn't have to scoot up so close to swipe your ID?  Add a badge reel that allows you to extend your reach as far as you want.  The line retracts back into the reel by itself so you aren't left with your card dangling.  This attachment works well for keys too.

Pens

If you are on the go and carry a clipboard, you know how hard it is to keep up with a pen.  You try to use the cap to wedge the pen against the metal clip - but it keeps sliding off.  You put the pen in a pocket and end up with ink all over your shirt or a hole in your pants.  Why not just add a pen holder to your lanyard?  

Cell Phones and Cameras

It makes sense to us a sturdy loop attachment to keep these devices at your fingertips.  After all, cell phones and cameras need to be close to your face to work anyway!  You don't have to worry about losing or dropping these expensive accessories if you pick the right holder.

This is a great attachment to own if you are doing presentations off-site at trade shows or job fairs.  No more worries about leaving your CD at the office or shuffling through your laptop bag for the memory stick.  Just load the data onto the device, fasten it to your holder, and go.  Being well prepared is the easiest way to look professional in these situations. 

Survival Gear

If you like to spend time outdoors, lanyard attachments can be real lifesavers.  Having a penlight or a whistle within reach can be very useful in an emergency.  On hot days, it makes sense to keep liquids on hand.  A gasket holder is strong enough to support a full water bottle.  Choose a lanyard with a quick release section or a carabiner so you can detach the bottle and refill it easily.
