Liner Tattoo Machine
Is this tattoo machine setup right?
Hi guys i just took my machines to a tattooist to set it up for me he has set one for lining one for shading but i cant remember which is which , i know one of them has a smaller gap between the armature bar and the brass contact is that the shader ? and the one with the bigger gap is the liner ?

Ok first off , my "business" is not to tattoo anyone so dont go assuming i have because no i havnt i asked a simple question for which you could of answered i use practice skins to learn on not real skin all i wanted was to learn it as a hobby
I have no problems with an individual trying to learn some technique on his own... as long as you're not tattooing your friends, or any other person dumb enough to think tattooing is "easy as tracing!"
i grew up with practice skins & pork shanks.. i know what it's like... but the others are right... i've got over 10 years of tattooing under my belt and if you walked into my shop and asked me to tune your machines, i'd have to turn you down.
...if you want to learn about the machines themselves, buy a book... and learn from personal preference. Some artists run at higher volts with smaller gaps for shading or lining..., and the opposite for others... working with your tools is all about personal preference and experience....
buy yourself a book, one with a guide to building your own machine... that way it will show you what kind of performance you get with tweaking certain parts.
